Driving & Parking at EVIT
Visitors
Visitors to the EVIT Main or Power campuses may park in the designated visitor parking spaces. There is no permit required. All visitors are required to check-in at the front desk before visiting any area of the campus.
Faculty & Staff
Faculty and staff members at the EVIT Main or Power campuses may get an EVIT parking permit from the Human Resources office in the district office on the Dr. A. Keith Crandell (Main) Campus by completing the EVIT Staff Parking Permit form, by request.
After receiving the permit from Human Resources, the staff member may park in the designated staff parking spaces. For more information, please call (480) 461-4112.
Students
Students attending EVIT and driving to the Main and Power campuses must register their vehicles and have an EVIT parking permit. Parking permits are $60 and students must provide a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance to purchase. They may be purchased online at focus.evit.edu or in person at EVIT's District Office in Building 3 (Main Campus) or the Front Desk of Building 2 (Power Campus). If the permit is purchased online, it will be given to the student in class. Tickets will not be issued during the first week of school.
Students may park in the designated student parking spaces only. Students are not allowed to park in designated Staff and Visitor sections. Students may not drive their vehicles around the campus and may not park near their classroom building. Students parked in areas other than the main parking lot will be issued a citation. Repeat violations will result in disciplinary action, possible loss of driving privileges, and have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
Students are expected to drive safely and courteously at all times. School employees may search motor vehicles parked on school property when there is reasonable cause to believe the health, safety or welfare of students and/or employees might be in jeopardy.
Students who drive vehicles to school must follow all state guidelines as well as following EVIT guidelines:
- Students are permitted to park on school premises as a matter of privilege, not of right.
- The speed limit on campus is 15 MPH and will be enforced.
- Cell phones will not be used while operating a vehicle on campus.
- The District retains authority to conduct routine patrols of student parking lots and inspections of the exteriors of student automobiles on school property.
- The District may inspect the interiors of student vehicles whenever a school authority has reasonable suspicion to believe that illegal or unauthorized materials are contained inside the vehicles.
- Such patrols and inspections may be conducted without notice, without student consent, and without a search warrant.
- A student who fails to provide access to the interior of the car upon request by a school official will be subject to school disciplinary action.
- If the student fails to follow school policy and procedure related to the use of vehicles, the vehicle may be towed away and stored, at the owner’s expense.
- Any vehicle parked on campus must display a student parking permit and can only park in the Student Parking Lot.
- Vehicles must be driven in a safe and orderly manner entering, exiting and on district property.
- Any student speeding or driving in a reckless manner will lose parking privileges. This includes excessive acceleration and/or squealing tires.
- Students may not drive or park in the back of campus.
- Vehicles are not to be used as lockers.
- Students will not receive a pass to go their vehicle during class time.
- Vehicles are to be vacated immediately after parking. Hanging out in the parking lot to include sitting in or on vehicles is prohibited during the school day, which includes lunch hours.
- Passengers will not be allowed to ride in the back of a pickup truck on district property.
- Students are responsible for passengers in their vehicle.
- All occupants of vehicles must wear seat belts.
