EVIT in the news
The East Valley Institute of Technology has been featured several times in the news recently. Spotlight on apprenticeships
Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson’s column about apprenticeships was published in the Arizona Capitol Times in November: “Many students don’t want a higher education; they want to be hired – as soon as possible.” Read more: https://bit.ly/3BatUxa.

New apprenticeship
EVIT has added a fifth apprenticeship to the ones that are already being offered. The Aircraft Mechanic apprenticeship starts in July. Four apprenticeships start Jan. 6: Electrical, HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), Plumbing, and Structural Metal Fabricator (Welding). Last July, the U.S. Department of Labor awarded EVIT a $6 million grant to create a hub in Arizona for registered apprenticeships.

Save the date: EVIT Expo
Prospective students and families can explore all that EVIT has to offer during EVIT Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Jan. 25 at the Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St., Mesa. This annual open house event includes demonstrations in EVIT programs, trolley tours of the campus, food trucks and family activities.

Your future, your way
EVIT is not just a place for high school students or adults. It’s not just a trade school or a college. Instead, EVIT offers multiple nontraditional pathways so students can design their own education pathway that works best for them. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3OzQzGb.
