Future of Arizona CTE
The East Valley Institute of Technology and CHASSE Building Team are co-sponsoring a free Arizona Capitol Times Morning Scoop webinar – “The Future of Career and Technical Education in Arizona” – at 8 a.m., Feb. 7. Panelists will include EVIT Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson, CHASSE Project Director Vicente Teran and EVIT Coordinator of External Affairs C. Kevin Imes. February is CTE Month, so it’s a good time to look at how CTE has evolved over the years and where it’s heading in the future. CTE Month
At EVIT, students are doing what they love as they prepare for their chosen career. In honor of CTE Month, multimedia specialist Gavin Dunham asked them why they love what they do. Check out the video: https://bit.ly/3HIQgX2.

Tennessee visitors
EVIT recently hosted a group of educators and Chamber of Commerce members from Franklin, TN, who have zeroed in on EVIT and Arizona’s CTED (Career Technical Education District) model as a potential solution for their community’s career training needs. The group toured the EVIT Main Campus and attended a panel discussion featuring Dr. Wilson, Arizona CTE leaders and EVIT’s business partners.

EVIT filmmakers
Students in the Video Production program were recently notified that two of their films have been accepted to the Arizona Student Film Festival. Eight second-year students produced a 60-second short horror film, “Jane in the Box,” and five first-year students were selected for their short film, “Some Things,” a teen movie interpretation of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears.” Another film by EVIT students, “Grave Resolutions,” was a recent top 10 finalist in the All American High School Film Festival. Congrats, EVIT Video students!
