CTE Month
EVIT is the proud sponsor of Career and Technical Education Month on CW7. Throughout February, CW7 will be airing public service announcements and commercials about CTE programs that prepare high school and adult students to enter Arizona’s workforce.

More than college
Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Ronda Doolen presented “Their Future, Their Way: Guiding Students to Non-Traditional Pathways for College & Career” at this week’s annual Arizona School Counselors Association conference. Dr. Wilson and Dr. Doolen spoke on the importance of educating students about all post-high school options, including paid apprenticeships and a combination of trades & college education as well as traditional postsecondary pathways.

Hair!
EVIT’s annual Fantasy Hair Shows will be 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 21 and Feb. 28 at the Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St., Mesa, and Power Campus, 6625 S. Power Road, Mesa. These events will be at both campuses on both nights, featuring first-year Cosmetology and Barbering students on Feb. 21 and second-year Cosmetology and Aesthetics students on Feb. 28. Tickets are $5 per person (cash only) at the door; children under 5 may attend for free.

Congressional visit
EVIT welcomed Congressman Greg Stanton to the Main Campus in January. He met students, administrators and teachers as he toured orbital welding, industrial trades and medical programs. Congressman Stanton called EVIT one of the best career and technical training schools in the country.

Social buzz
EVIT has been receiving many positive shout-outs on social media. Here’s one from Fetter Automotive Repair on Facebook: “We had an awesome time today hosting an inspiring young automotive student! Currently attending EVIT for Automotive, he was eager to get a firsthand look at how a local shop operates … It’s exciting to see the future of the industry in action, and we’re always happy to share our experience and knowledge with those eager to learn!”

Thank you for your support in helping EVIT change lives.
