What is EVIT?
The East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a public, career and technical education district (CTED) that serves Phoenix-area adults and high school students who reside in East Valley school districts. High school students from Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, Higley, and J.O. Combs spend a half-day at EVIT in a career preparation program and the other half-day at their home high school. Tenth through twelfth grade students can attend EVIT tuition-free. Bus transportation is provided to and from EVIT by the student’s home school district for most programs. High school students can also enroll in career and technical education (CTE) classes at their home school. These classes are offered by the school districts and funded by EVIT.
Phoenix-area adults can also enroll in EVIT secondary classes and postsecondary programs for competitive tuition. Classes are scheduled in the morning, afternoon, and evening sessions, we cater to various schedules. Additionally, EVIT provides associate degree programs for post-secondary students. When can I enroll at EVIT?
Registration for the upcoming school year opens online on November 1st for high school students and adult students applying for our secondary programs.

What do I need to enroll at EVIT?
Public high school students need transcripts, discipline records, immunization records (or a signed waiver).
Charter/Private/Homeschooled students need transcripts, discipline records, immunization records (or a signed waiver), proof of residency and proof of age.
Postsecondary students need a standard identification card, proof of graduation (high school diploma, GED or transcripts with projected graduation date), social security card , and an immunization card. Students over 21 years of age need a fingerprint clearance card.

When should students start thinking about EVIT?
Students who are interested in attending EVIT should start thinking about registering for EVIT when they are in the 8th grade. Students are encouraged to include EVIT on their Education Career and Action Plan (ECAP).

Which classes are offered at the EVIT Power Campus?
The following classes are offered at the Power Campus: Aviation, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Future Engineers, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Pet Grooming, Veterinary Assistant and Welding. Additional classes may be offered based on enrollment.

Does EVIT offer adult classes?
Yes, EVIT offers postsecondary classes. In fact, postsecondary students can enroll in any of our 45 programs. They can enroll in secondary classes or post-secondary programs. Classes are available during the morning session, afternoon session and evenings. EVIT also offers associate degree programs for our adult students. For questions, email adulted@evit.edu.

How many high school credits can I earn?
Students earn 0.75 credits per quarter (or 3 credits each year) completed with a passing grade. Students in 4-hour block programs earn one credit every quarter (or 4 credits each year).
Community college articulation, dual enrollment credit and/or Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) are in place for high school students in designated courses. All EVIT high school students graduate from their home high school.

How much does it cost to attend EVIT?
East Valley high school students attend EVIT tuition-free. Class fees vary by program and are based on the cost of required tools, supplies/materials, and career and technical student organization (CTSO) membership.
Postsecondary students pay an affordable competitive tuition rate that varies by program. For questions regarding enrollment, tuition, payment options, etc. email registration@evit.edu.

Is transportation to EVIT provided?
Transportation is provided for high school students by their sending district or charter for morning and afternoon sessions. Students must provide their own transportation for all other sessions. Refer to your home district transportation services for any related questions.
Postsecondary students must provide their transportation. We are conveniently located near the METRO light rail stop at Sycamore and Main Street. There is also a Valley Metro bus stop near the entrance of campus at Longmore and Main Streets.
