Governing Board Vacancies

The governing board seat for the East Valley Institute of Technology (“EVIT”), District 4, is vacant. The EVIT Governing Board will be recommending to the Maricopa County School Superintendent up to three candidates to fill the vacancy for the current term which started on January 1, 2025.
 
If you are a registered voter residing in EVIT's District 4 and are interested in filling the Board vacancy, submit a letter of interest to the Governing Board's secretary, Tammy Norris at 1601 West Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201 or by email to: tnorris@evit.edu. A map of District 4 can be found here.
 
Letters of interest must be received by 5:00 p.m. January 17, 2025 to be considered. EVIT will conduct interviews, if necessary, January 20-24, 2025. The Board will make a final decision on whom it will recommend to the Maricopa County School Superintendent at its January 27, 2025 regular meeting. The Maricopa County School Superintendent will interview all candidates and make the final decision on which candidate will fill the vacancy. The Maricopa County School Superintendent does not have to accept the Governing Board's recommendation.

Governing Board Meetings

Unless notice to the contrary is provided, the East Valley Institute of Technology's Governing Board holds its regular meetings at 6:00 p.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month in the Board Room located in Building 3 at the Dr. A. Keith Crandell (Main) Campus, 1601 W. Main Street, Mesa.  From time to time, this meeting time and date may change in the event of a holiday or an event preventing the presence of a quorum.  Special meetings may be called and scheduled on other dates and at other times.  These meetings are open to the public, with the exception of executive sessions. EVIT Governing Board meetings are live-streamed at evit.edu/live.

Notices of public meetings are also posted on the calendar of the EVIT website. Agendas are posted at least 24 hours before the meeting at the EVIT district office in Building 3 of the Main Campus. The district office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, during the school year.  You may also obtain a copy of the Governing Board Meeting agenda here.
