A year of hope and achievement
Last July, EVIT opened its new HopeTech residential center on the Main Campus for students aging out of the state foster care system. Starting with a pilot group of 16 foster youth, HopeTech just completed its inaugural year with significant achievements. A resident completed the adult HVAC-R program, earning valuable certifications. Another completed the Electrical program and was accepted into a paid apprenticeship with Tekline. He also won first place in the Arizona SkillsUSA competition and went on to compete at the national level. Current HopeTech residents are working toward completing their career training by May 2026. Later this month, they will be joined by 29 new residents for an enrollment of nearly 40 students. Congratulations to all involved in this truly transformative program.

National radio champs
Spring graduates of EVIT’s Radio/Audio Production program brought home gold and silver medals from the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta in June. Mariana Perez Cervantes and Brandon Neyenhuis won gold in the Audio Production competition for high school students, and Asa Lindsay and Matthew Cavazos took silver in the contest for postsecondary students.

Top HOSA chapter
Once again, EVIT’s healthcare students have earned the top international award from HOSA Future Health Professionals for raising the most money for a service project -- $37,000 for the National Marrow Donor Program. EVIT’s HOSA chapter also won a silver medal for blood drive donations, and Medical Assistant student Jade Ortiz and Physical Therapy Technician students Justin Brewer and Olivia Frantz placed in the Top 10 in their competitions.

Leader sought for industry partnerships
EVIT is accepting applications for the position of Industry Partner Coordinator for the Registered Apprenticeship Program. The coordinator will establish and maintain strategic relationships with local and regional employers. If you’re interested, apply:  Industry Partner Coordinator
