IGA Update
EVIT has filed for judgment on the pleadings in a lawsuit filed by nine East Valley school districts against the EVIT Career Technical Education District (CTED). The districts sued EVIT late last year when intergovernmental agreement (IGA) negotiations broke down. EVIT’s motion filed in court last week states that the lawsuit is an attempt to seize control from the CTED, eliminate financial oversight and accountability for the use of tax dollars, and to disregard state law, legislative intent and findings of the Arizona Auditor General. To prevent such lawsuits in the future, EVIT is supporting HB4034. Sponsored by Rep. Matt Gress, HB4034 clarifies the definitions of CTED programs, accountability and funding. READ: HB4034. We will continue to keep our stakeholders informed on the lawsuit and legislation.

New EVIT Campus at Red Mountain
In collaboration with Mesa Public Schools, EVIT will be opening a fourth central campus in July at Red Mountain High School. Any student residing in the EVIT CTED will be able to attend EVIT CNA at Red Mountain, a campus dedicated to the training of certified nursing assistants. Students who complete the program will be given first consideration for placement in EVIT’s nursing associate degree program. FOX10 interviewed Superintendent Dr. Chad Wilson about the new campus. 2026 EVIT Completion Ceremonies
We are already planning the completion ceremonies for the Class of 2026 – for a record 4,500 CTE completers from EVIT central campuses! The ceremonies will be 7 p.m., May 19, 7 p.m., May 20 and 10 a.m. May 22 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale.

Expo Recap
We had a great EVIT Expo in January attracting about 4,000 East Valley students and parents to explore career training programs offered on our central campuses. EVIT Expo, always on the last Saturday in January, is our annual kick-off to CTE Month in February. Missed Expo? Here’s a VIDEO RECAP: EVIT Expo.

Coming Home to EVIT
EVIT is well-known for its high school CTE programs, but now a growing number of adults are turning to EVIT for training to become registered nurses, surgical technologists, electricians and more. It’s the perfect fit for alumni already familiar with EVIT’s Main Campus and culture who are seeking postsecondary education that won’t waste their time and money.
