IGA Update
Negotiations between EVIT and 9 of our member school districts – Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Higley, J.O. Combs, Queen Creek and Tempe – have taken a disappointing turn. In a letter to EVIT’s legal counsel, the districts’ attorneys threatened to sue if EVIT does not agree to their demands. EVIT declined their offer and our position remains firm: All CTE students, whether on EVIT campuses or in partner high schools, deserve the same high standards and accountability. It is both the right and responsibility of the EVIT Governing Board to provide that oversight. We will keep our community stakeholders informed of any new developments.
