Commitment to Opportunity, Quality, Accountability
In 2024, the Arizona Auditor General released a required of audit of the EVIT Career Technical Education District (CTED) that pointed out a lack of complete and reliable outcome data to demonstrate that taxpayer dollars are being spent effectively to prepare students for high-need occupations. In response, EVIT has developed a Quality Indicator Rubric to improve all CTE programs offered at EVIT central campuses and in East Valley high schools. Highest CTE Ratings
In the most recent Career & Technical Education Monitoring Report by the Arizona Department of Education, 35 EVIT central campus programs (over 81% of those monitored) received the highest rating, Distinguished Achievement. Eight programs earned the second highest rating, Proficient Achievement. No EVIT central campus programs scored less than Proficient.
Top Adult Learner
EVIT student Johndavid Gauntlett is being honored Saturday, Sept. 6 by the Arizona Association for Lifelong Learning as the state’s Adult Basic Education Student of the Year! Johndavid is in EVIT’s High School Equivalency Prep program and Fire Science program, and has shown meaningful growth academically and professionally. In addition to his EVIT studies, Johndavid wrote an essay that earned him a promotion in the Air Force Auxiliary. Congratulations!
Foundation Breakfast
Save the date: The EVIT Foundation’s annual Gourmet Breakfast Fundraiser is 7 to 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the Culinary Banquet Hall at the EVIT Main Campus. In 2024-25, the foundation awarded $330,000 in scholarships to 1,331 students to attend EVIT. Purchase tickets: EVIT Foundation Breakfast
Applications for 2026-27
EVIT will begin accepting applications from high school students for the 2026-27 school year on Nov. 1. Check out our new EVIT Promotional Video.
