FEDERAL STUDENT AID

The following EVIT Postsecondary programs are eligible to participate in Federal Student Aid programs through the FAFSA®.

  • Aesthetics
  • Cosmetology
  • Massage Therapy
  • Practical Nursing
  • Sterile Processing
  • Nursing (AAS)
  • Surgical Technology (AAS)

Title IV funding including Federal Pell Grant, campus-based federal grants, and Direct Student Loans are awarded based on eligibility requirements, and completion of the FAFSA and other federal documents.

Below are the steps to begin applying for Federal Student Aid. Upon completion and enrollment into an eligible program, the Financial Aid department will put together a Financial Aid Award Letter displaying eligible funding, and a cost of attendance breakdown.

  • Please note: Additional documents may be requested if a student is selected for verification or there are additional items being requested to determine federal aid eligibility. It is imperative that all documentation be submitted by the required deadlines to receive Federal Student Aid.

Education Forward Arizona provides a Ask Benji, a chatbot, specifically designed to help Arizona students, parents, and educators get quick answers to a wide variety of questions about the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school.

EVIT’s Financial Aid Office is mandated to report any suspicious fraudulent activity to the Office of Inspector General.

VETERANS ADMINISTRATION FUNDING


EVIT is proud to help individuals who served in the military and are looking to find career training after serving their country.  We accept Veteran Administration (VA) funding including the GI Bill®.

ADULT CAREER TRAINING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

ARIZONA@WORK is the statewide workforce development network that helps employers recruit, develop and retain the best employees for their needs. AZ@WORK works with EVIT to provide financial assistance to approved individuals seeking training in a specific area of focus.

PRIVATE STUDENT LOANS

Individuals can apply for private educational or personal loans through banks or financial institutions of their preference. These are credit-based. All terms and conditions for these loans are set by the lender. Students interested in applying for loans above program costs will need to contact the EVIT Financial Aid Department at adultfinancialaid@evit.edu for an internal application to determine the amount they are eligible to borrow up to.

CARES ACT 2020

  1. East Valley Institute of Technology has signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement and the institution intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1)(2)(3) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  2. East Valley Institute of Technology has received $684,930.00 from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
  3. East Valley Institute of Technology has distributed $654,030.00 of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1)(2)(3) of the CARES Act as of August 11, 2023.
  4. East Valley Institute of Technology has 1691 total students at the institution eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1)(2)(3) of the CARES Act.
  5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1)(2)(3) of the CARES Act is 901.
  6. East Valley Institute of Technology utilized a needs-based application developed by a neutral Third Party to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1)(2)(3) of the CARES Act.
  7. East Valley Institute of Technology. Students’ applications were sent out on May 12, 2023 and review process will begin immediately upon receipt and completed by May 29, 2023. Checks were mailed to their mailing address on file, and made available for pick up to eligible students on 08/11/2023. For further concerns, please email adultfinancialaid@evit.edu.

EVIT PROGRAM ACCREDITATION

Adult Education @ EVIT is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and serves students age 18 and older across Phoenix and the East Valley in the areas of health care and nursing, industrial and commercial technology, human services and automotive technology.  Programs provide hands-on training and required hours for students to be able to sit for certification exams once class  is completed.
