Dental Assistant Program

The Dental Assistant program prepares individuals to provide patient care, conduct dental radiographs (x-ray photographs), prepare patients and equipment for dental procedures, and discharge office administrative functions under the supervision of dentists and dental hygienists. 

Dental Assisting includes instruction in:

Medical recordkeeping
General office duties
Reception & patient intake
Scheduling
Equipment maintenance & sterilization
Basic Radiography
Pre & post-operative patient care & instruction
Chairside assisting
Performing tooth & mouth impressions
Supervised practice
Dental Assistant students in the lab at the East Valley Institute of Technology in Mesa, Arizona
