The Mental & Social Health Technician program is an introduction to social work, mental health casework, clinical interviews, therapeutic intervention strategies, patient testing and evaluation procedures, patient and family counseling, social rehabilitation, patient care planning, record-keeping, and support services liaison activities.

Mental & Social Health Technician includes instruction in:

Mental health theory
Applied psychopathology
Patient communication and management
Crisis intervention
Psychotropic medication
Mental health treatment procedures
Substance abuse
Mental and Social Health Technician students working together on group project
