Veterinary Assistant Program

Do you have an interest in animal science or providing medical care to animals? 

The Veterinary Assistant program trains students to care for animals and assist with medical procedures in a clinical setting.

Students gain hands-on experience at the on-site Veterinary Assistant Skills Clinic, learning patient care, animal behavior, medical terminology, and office administration.

The program covers anatomy, physiology, infection control, pharmacology, surgical assisting, diagnostic imaging, and dental procedures.

With a strong foundation in animal science and veterinary care, students develop the skills needed to work in animal clinics, hospitals, and shelters, making a real difference in the health and well-being of animals.

Veterinary Assistant includes instruction in:

Anatomy
Physiology
Medical terminology
Nutrition
Animal behavior and restraint
Client communication
Office administration
Animal growth and development
Animal diseases
Infection control
Animal reproduction
Pharmacology procedures
Surgical assisting procedures
Diagnostic imaging procedures
Dental assisting procedures
