Nursing Assistant at Red Mountain

Starting Fall 2026, EVIT is launching a Nursing Assistant program at Red Mountain High School in partnership with Mesa Public Schools.

The program gives East Valley high school students the opportunity to gain hands-on training, real-world healthcare experience and industry-recognized skills while still in high school.

Students learn essential skills such as infection control, personal care, communication and emergency procedures while training in classroom, lab and clinical settings.

This program builds a strong foundation for students interested in nursing and patient care, helping them take the first step toward becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant and pursuing in-demand careers in healthcare.

Nursing Assistant includes instruction in:

Infection control
Communication and interpersonal skills
Direct patient care 
Safety and emergency procedures
Personal care skills and basic nursing skills
 
Nursing assistant students, in burgundy scrubs, practice patient care at the East Valley Institute of Technology, EVIT, in Mesa, Arizona.
