EVIT holds Completion ceremonies instead of graduation to honor students for completing their certification programs. All high school and adult students completing certifications during the year are invited to participate. EVIT's 40+ programs are divided between two nights.
Dates: Monday, May 20, 2024 and Tuesday, May 21, 2024
Times: Student Arrival Time - 6:15 p.m.
Ceremony Start Time - 7:00 p.m.
Location: Sloan Park (Spring Training Home of the Chicago Cubs)
*Important Note - We are aware of the scheduling conflicts with a couple of the high schools within our EVIT district. Therefore, any student who chooses to attend their high school event and cannot attend Completion on their assigned program night is invited to attend on the opposite night and will sit with a group of students from their school and/or others in the same situation.
*Things to Know About Attending the Ceremonies:
- Students may not leave early at any time during the Ceremony
- No tickets are needed for guests
- No limit to the number of guests Open Seating - First Come-First Served
- Gates & Concession Stands open at 5:30 p.m.
- Concession stands do not accept cash - Only debit/credit is accepted.
- No balloons, noisemakers, umbrellas, or confetti allowed in the Stadium.
- Weather will be very warm. Wearing a hat and sunglasses is encouraged. Hand fans are also helpful.
- There is ADA seating for individuals needing accommodations and one additional guest. There is not room in this area for more than two individuals to sit together because of the number of individuals needing accommodations.
- The Ceremonies will be live-streamed. A link will be sent closer to the event.

Cap & Gown: (Required) A cap and gown are required to participate in EVIT's completion ceremony. We encourage all students to wear the cap & gown from their home high school. If you do not have a cap & gown, EVIT has a limited supply of black gowns for sale on a first-come first-served basis. These may be purchased for $30 (which includes a cap, gown and tassel) at the EVIT District Office (Building #3) on the Main Campus, between school hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Program Honor Cords: (Optional for students) To represent your program and your accomplishments, each program has been assigned a specific color of Honor Cord. EVIT also has a limited supply of cords for sale on a first-come first-served basis. These may also be purchased for $4 at the EVIT District Office (Building #3) on the Main Campus, between school hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 pm. See the attached flyer for program colors.

Purchasing Option: Students may purchase a Cap & Gown and/or Honor Cords from any company they choose or through GraduationSource's Online Portal. Prices and/or shipping costs vary from place to place. Orders must be placed by April 20th to ensure they arrive on time. EVIT is not responsible for these orders.
